Kath Haddon

Kath Hadden grew up in Reigate , Surrey before moving to Exeter to Study Art and Education at the University of Exeter. Following a period of time teaching in Primary Schools in Devon and having 3 daughters, Kath made the move to become a full time artist.

Kath’s work is inspired by the coastline of the South West where she is based with her family. Her work acts as a visual diary of her experiences traveling around the area. Kath has taken part in Devon Open Studios for many years as well as group exhibitions . In 2023 she undertook a challenge to capture the beauty in the every day ordinary things by committing to making a small oil painting every day of the year. Kath had her first solo exhibition in the Spring of 2024, celebrating a year of ‘A Painting a day’. This was in Princesshay Exeter, and ran for 7 weeks with people visiting from all over the country who had followed the project on social media , this has been followed by a limited edition book documenting the project. Much of her work is by private commission , working closely with clients to establish their connection to a place and what makes it so special to them.

She runs workshops for adults and has worked in primary and secondary school settings teaching art and running collaborative projects. Kath also curates the rolling art exhibition at Park Life Heavitree where she is on the board of trustees.
